ok I watched the video on how to fix kodi sound but it didn't work it showing a little speaker in right hand corner with a red x out sign have tried every thing to fix but for some reason it wont work I have also uninstalled it and reinstalled it but that did fix it I am running windows 8.1
Welcome to the forum, to fix your issue.
- First play a movie in Kodi
- Down the bottom of the screen you will see a speaker icon, its the one on the right of the play button.

- Click it and move volume db to right.

this is the problem if u can see this and I tried what u said didn't work so I try to upload a photo this is on all the time even when I log on
