Two main points to stop are skydrive and McAfee.
You can actually stop all except AVG if you wish.
I would still like a list of non windows services running as this is I think the main cause.

ive searched for the Mcafee, but in my programs, where you would normally uninstall its not there, looks like its hidden. Ive found what could be the file but when i delete it is does not allow me too.
I did some digging in my computer files, and it seems there's alot of crap files, im guessing viruses, or infections that do not get picked up by the scan's ive used. Ive been manually deleting them.

ok I would disable all dose startup items all you need starting up is your antivirus program
also I would disable mcafee security scan service and mcafee firewall

Ok will try this,
Regarding the mcafee, I've searched for the program in control panel---- add remove programs and it's not there.
So I was going through my C drive and came across what looks like a hidden file that had Mcaffee in it, I deleted the items I could but the main Mcafee it doesn't let me as somthing comes up say so thing about administrator???
Not sure what to do about this?

ok a bit of an update....
still hanging.....
and this morning when i switched the laptop on, the was a messege saying that it was unable to start properly, gave me an option to restore back to a previous setting.
not sure if this links in with anything
getting really tired of this, is there anyone that can direct me in the right direction

Both files are there Britec...hopfully you can help me
