Could be a RAM issue also.
I thinks its vista. A 7-10 year old pc. But a week ago it has gone dead. When booting there a option "start windows normally" and " launch windows repair recommended" i tried it but while it was scanning, the pc still goes off.

Im actually a newb when it comes to pc stuff. Will my pc still start if i remove the ram sticks?

I hope it's not your motherboard.

If you take both of them out, you should hear some beeps. This will not do any harm to your computer. It is just a process called POST that us technicians use.
RAM sticks are required, but if you have 2 test them out by removing 1 and swapping them both in the slots.
Also could be your battery. Looks like a small coin. Taking that out will reset your BIOS settings.
They are cheap to buy if that is the case.
Took both ram sticks out and got No beeps. Motherboard gone?
are you getting display on screen yes or no ?

or are you getting display then it would power off?
I hate working on vista machines that's 50% of the problem. Have you ever run a scan disk or defrag.? Plus was the system covered in dust.? So many thing's it could be. No beeps when you took out the ram is not great new's sorry to say.
Some MOBOs don't beep regardless, instead they have a series of light flashes on the front of the computer to indicate the same thing as a beep(s).

I like Vista, it makes you work Wink
Try booting your system to a live environment and see if it boots properly.
