What’s Best Kaspersky vs VIPRE 2014
In this video I will be testing Kaspersky Internet Security 2014 and Vipre Internet Security 2014, I will be running some web browser tests, with some live zero-day and other types of infections, to see if which block access to your computer, to stop your system from becoming infected.
I will then scan a folder of malware files and see what detects and removes the most files. to do this I will disable protection so I can get the files onto the computer.
I will then try and install what files don’t get detected to see if the programs can stop the installation of this malicious malware like trojan, rootkit, backdoor, bots, virus, rogues and ransomware and many other types of nasty files.
Antivirus Software AV-Testing
Hi Brian,
Just watched your video on Kaspersky (that few in the US seem able to pronounce correctly—they skip over the first “s”) versus VIPRE, which you have a problem pronouncing. It just happens that I’ve used Kaspersky in the past and have VIPRE loaded on this machine right now. In addition, I’m working with the notes I took last weekend at a computer conference, and it contains notes from a conference a few years ago at which reps from Sunbelt Software, publishers of VIPRE, gave a presentation. They all pronounced it “viper” to be in accord with their snake-head logo. The odd spelling is due to the fact that it’s actually an acronym for Virus Intrusion Protect Remediation Engine. (I might have one word off—I take pretty good notes, but don’t catch everything. The word might be Protection, and there might be an understood “and” in there.)
Good video. Helps me feel more secure in having 2 strong anti-malware products available.
Your welcome.
Oh, I just remembered I have a question. I’ve been told as long as I’ve worked with computers never to install two anti-virus programs on the same computer. How did you manage to conduct this test without the two programs challenging each other? It would seem to be the kind of test to be done with two computers, yet it’s clear you have both windows up on the same monitor.
I install them on cloned virtual machines 🙂
