Hi,
I had an issue a month or so ago with a Lenovo laptop, that was 5 months old... https://briteccomputers.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?tid=4203
Firstly I would like to reiterate my gratitude for all the advice received on this matter..
The last update, was the Lenovo Authorised Service Centre, fitted a new motherboard and a new hard drive, however a week later ,the same symptoms re-appeared..
I had a BSOD, which indicated a memory issue, so I ran Memtest overnight, and it reported no issues..(This laptop has already 4GB DDR4 2133 RAM soldered onto the motherboard, which is non removable, when I purchased the laptop, I asked the shop to upgrade it to a further 4GB.. the shop inserted 1 removable stick of Apacer DDR4 2400 Sodimm 4GB )
So, I removed the upgraded 1 removable stick of Apacer DDR4 2400 Sodimm 4GB from the laptop...
Now, i have zero issues...
My question is,
Is this just a faulty stick of RAM? Or this laptop can only operate on two sticks of same speed of 2133?,
as I've read a lot of systems can operate on two different speeds of RAM...
I would like to upgrade it to a further 4GB again, but I am wary if the situation rears its ugly head again
Once again many thanks..
