e1cexpress event ID 27
#1
Good Day Everyone,

I have a strange issue that one computer has been dealing with for the past month. The Intel Network card listed below is disconnecting and turning off at various times and will stay off for hours and at times days. The PC is only 6 months old. I contacted Dell with the Windows System Logs showing the "e1cexpress event 27" error. They sent out a new motherboard with the Network Card attached. Still the same issue. Dell is telling us to wipe out the Op system and start fresh. They are claiming it is a Windows 7 issue that is shutting off the network card. At this point we are reluctant to do this due to time and money involved in re-installing op sys. and installing all of the programs back on the computer. We are talking about 5 hours worth of installations and configurations for this machine. It is a Dell Optiplex 7010 with an i5 processor and the intel network card listed below. I have searched and searched but the information I have found is incomplete or has not resolved the problem.

"Intel® 82597LM Gigabit Network Connection"
Network link is disconnected

If anyone can provide some assistance I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks in advance.

Mike

Have you tried uninstalling the NIC driver to see if that works?

Good Day,

Yes we have uninstalled the driver, tried the latest driver then back to the original. Dell Tech also did same with new board.

Anything else we can do?

Thanks,

Mike

Hi Mike, welcome to the forum.

There is some intermittent issues with these type of nic cards.

It seems to be a common issue with these nic cards. It looks like there is a fix for it.

1. Try flashing BIOS to latest update.

2. Try installing ProSet drivers from Intel

3. Try Updating Intel® ME 8: Management Engine Driver

4. Try rolling back nic driver until you find a stable driver.

5. Try some of the tweaks and fix's they suggest in them links

6. You may need to make changes to Network Card in Advance Setting, I have posted a link about.

Intermittent issues are a nightmare to resolve, its going to be trial and error I am afraid.
