microsoft support scam

what anti verus software can remove the Microsoft Support Scam from google chrome browser the one that pops up on to your browser with the Call for Support: 0-800-046-5729 anybody??

Please download Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and save it to your desktop.
  • Install the progam and select update.
  • Once updated, click the Settings tab, in the left panel choose Detctions & protection and tick Scan for rootkits.
  • Click the Scan tab, choose Threat Scan is checked and click Scan Now.
  • If threats are detected, click the Apply Actions button. You will now be prompted to reboot. Click Yes.
  • Upon completion of the scan (or after the reboot), click the History tab.
  • Click Application Logs and double-click the Scan Log.
  • At the bottom click Export and choose Text file.
Save the file to your desktop and include its content in your next reply.

Most of them scam use Java. You can disable Java in your browser settings.

hi turning off the java those no good for me i cant use youtube or my facebook page this error comes up: JavaScript Required

Malwarebytes Premium blocks a lot of these. Or white list pages you want to run java, its a pain, but that's the way of the world nowadays.

I think java is partly reasonable but it come down to people browsing habits going to dodgy websites

some genuine websites do have Malicious ads to be honest that why people block ads

I had a scam which locked my browser with display and audio message to call specific number (forgot what number is) or else you will lose your hard drive. This was on Microsoft Edge. I have two users on my system - one affected and the other not. I went into App Data ==> Local ==> and then deleted all files within the Temp folder. This cleared up the problem. Also realized while doing this is that CCleaner only works on the user id you are signed on to.

Don't know if what I had is the same as yours, but probably no harm deleting all files within the Local Temp folder.

You get a lot of this on social media sites... I just tell people to hit Ctrl + Alt + Delete then reboot....All gone.
