msi.dll error
#1
Hi,

Can you please help me on this one.

I have a HP laptop running Windows 7 Home Premium that had a corrupted hard drive. I was able to clone enough of the hard drive to a new hard drive to get windows started and thanks you your fab videos have discovered and run the tweaking.com Windows repairs.

The only file that is now causing a problem is the error "... msi.dll is missing from your computer"

I noticed that it is possible to download from some sites, but felt unsure about that.

Can you advise the best way to reinstall this file.

Thanks
A.

Hi, boot into safe mode and open the cmd prompt as an administrator.

Then type this into the window.
"sfc /scannow" without quotes and press enter

Let us know how you go

Hi and thanks for replying.

I followed your instructions, but there is no change in the msi.dll error.

There is a very long log file though. Should I attach it?

Thanks A.

Best way would be to copy it from a install disc.

Do you have one you can use?
